HOW IT ALL BEGAN

Pawz 4 Cause (P4C) began in 2016 when founder and veterinarian, Dr. Nadia Hirani, took her mobile veterinary unit to local homeless shelters where pets were permitted to stay with their owners. With the rise of homelessness, mental health crises, and stigma surrounding homeless pet ownership, the need for veterinary access has increased, as has the need to defend pet ownership among the vulnerably housed.

Pets are a privilege; their love and loyalty bring comfort to so many. But their care is a necessity.

At P4C, we advocate for the vulnerably housed and their pets, and strive to improve the quality of life of not only the pets, but their owners as well.
